My supervisor bought a inflatable kayak this weekend, and we went out at lunch to do a little boating on echo lake. (or is that kayaking?)
I got a couple good photos of the lake and one of Karl’s bald head. (He got a new hair cut)

For the last two days, my supervisor and I went to the lake near our work to have a leisurely swim for lunch. It’s been great. The weather here has been warm enough to warrant a little lake swimming.
Echo Lake is the name and the majority of the year it is crystal clear. The two days Karl and I went down to swim, it was a bit green, but it didn’t stop us. There was a man by the lake who said the green was because the water levels were a little lower than normal and the temperatures higher than normal, which leads to a good environment for all the green stuff to grow.
I’m thinking, “No worries, I’ve gone swimming in much worse.”
Any how, while I was swimming yesterday I was thinking about how lucky I am to be able to swim at lunch in a beautiful lake, only 3 minutes drive from work.
I think I will take my family to Echo Lake one of these hot days. Maybe even take a couple hours for lunch and really enjoy the lake with my kids. I guess that all depends on if we get anymore hot days. It’s August in the Seattle area; who knows if they’ll be any more of those.

My supervisor and I were driving back from lunch a couple weeks ago, and he mentioned that he would like to in the future get a stand up desk so that he can maintain good posture and just experiment with how working standing up all day would be.
When we got back to the office, we found out via email that one of the offices down the street was offering up old furniture for free. It listed a stand up desk as one of the treasures available.
So my supervisor and I walked down the street and carried (two loads) the desk back.
After getting it all set up, I must say that I had a little envy. This desk was very nice and had all sorts of room for extra monitors and “stuff”.
I liked it so much I wanted to blog about it. Sorry about that. I also took a picture. My desk is the desk behind that and to the right. You can see my brown chair there on the right. I have three monitors, and feel quite inadequate compared to my supervisors 6 screens.
I won’t even get into how many PC/Laptops he has in that picture. (LOL)
For those who want to know. We used Input Director to be able to share one keyboard and mouse with all of those computers. It is a pretty solid program and I even use it for my three computers with three monitors.
